Healthier SG: New Initiative Boosts Preventive Care for Singaporeans
What is Healthier SG?
Healthier SG is a national program in Singapore that empowers individuals to take charge of their health at every life stage. Instead of solely focusing on treating illnesses, the program prioritises preventive healthcare, aiming to keep people healthy and well.
By 2030, one in four people in Singapore will be 65 years or older, compared to one in six today. As people age, they are more likely to face health problems. This makes preventive healthcare essential for keeping everyone well and reducing the number of sick individuals.
Healthier SG has garnered significant interest among Singaporeans. Since its launch in July 2023, over 960,000 individuals have signed up for the platform. This substantial number of sign-ups indicates a growing awareness of health and wellness among the Singaporean population. Many individuals are proactively seeking tools and resources to improve their health. This trend suggests a promising future for digital health initiatives in Singapore, as people increasingly embrace technology to manage their well-being.
Don't wait. Sign up for Healthier SG today and schedule an appointment with a Nuffield Medical doctor. Together, we can help you achieve optimal health and live your best life.

Healthier SG Chronic Tier
The Healthier SG Chronic Tier is a new subsidy framework designed to make common chronic medications more affordable for individuals with CHAS, Pioneer Generation, or Merdeka Generation cards.
Starting from early 2024, this tier offers even more significant savings:
- Subsidies of up to 87.5% for a selected whitelist of chronic medications for CHAS cardholders enrolled to Healthier SG GP clinics who have opted for the Healthier SG Chronic Tier. These medications would be similar to those prescribed and subsidised at polyclinics.
- Subsidies of up to $360 per year for other components of your chronic care under the Healthier SG Chronic Tier, such as consultation and lab tests.
- Use MediSave to pay for treatment of chronic conditions without cash co-payment for residents under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP).
The Healthier SG Chronic Tier is particularly beneficial for individuals requiring frequent medication, as it can help offset costs that exceed the yearly CHAS subsidy limits. To utilise this tier, patients must visit their enrolled GP clinic and choose between the CHAS Chronic Tier or the Healthier SG Chronic Tier. It's important to note that only one tier can be used per visit.
This new subsidy framework offers flexibility, allowing patients to switch between tiers as their medication needs evolve. Additionally, some GP clinics may provide home delivery services for chronic medications, enhancing convenience and potentially reducing the burden of managing chronic conditions.
